| PART 2 |
| So here we are.....March Meet 2004 was to be the last runs for the Naw-T-One. I suffered a bad crash in the first round of eliminations, but I have moved on and I am making a full recovery. With some major concerns from my wife and family, but with all the support in the world, we are now moving forward and with the help of Dick Moseley, we are going to go back to the future!!!! Sorry, couldn't help myself there. What I mean to say, is that we are going to build a 2004 nostalgia version of my father's 1932 Bantam altered he ran back in the early seventies. The car was a 100" wheelbase, Mike Kase AA/FA chassis, that was originally set up to run a blown nitro 392 Hemi. Dad took it, put his gas injected 396 BBC in there and went to town. As far as I can tell he was pretty succesful with this car, since I remember some of the old trophies that we had from Lions Drag Strip. We are going to shoot for a 115" version of that car, with an injected alcohol BBC between the frame rails. It will be as nostalgic as we can make it and it will be, as the original was, all black!!! We have had some discussions on what to name it...being that the original was named The Silly Savage. As a team we are still attached to the name Naw-T-One, but since this is a Bantam and not a T bucket bodied car, we think that maybe The Silly Savage JR, or II will be more appropriate. I look forward to getting this project off the ground and going as soon as we can, we we also want to take our time and do it right. I already bought a pair of original 18x3 magnesium American Racing 12 spoke wheels, and a Moon Eyes foot print gas pedal and we will be getting a "Moon style' alum fuel tank to go with the Bantam body. We will try and put up pictures of the project as it progresses. Well, that is about all I can say for the team history for now, but when we get the new car done, we'll start making some more news happen....... Stay tuned......... THE SILLY SAVAGE IS COMING SOON!!! |
